Today’s New Track | Mutual Benefit’s “Auburn Epitaphs”

Like cracking open a childhood toychest, “Auburn Epitaphs” has a calming innocence that warms the heart and soothes the soul. Crafted by a mix of melancholic string plucking and atmospheric instrumentation, while garnished with rich, swooning vocals, Mutual Benefit’s Jordan Lee knows how to forge ballads of aloofness. It’s quite fitting considering it was concocted entirely from within his bedroom.

Although released in 2011 as part of The Cowboy’s Prayer, the EP has been given a re-mastering and all new album artwork. The upgraded rendition of “Auburn Epitaphs” has been made available for streaming to announce the August 25th re-release of The Cowboy’s Prayer (which is being given its first physical publication).
